Journey back through 150 years of history with a tour of Rookwood Cemetery
Rookwood Cemetery is recognised as the most historic working cemetery in Australia. Its fascinating history and the story behind its development and evolution, as well as the significant link to our nation's heritage are all covered in the history tours such as:
We are fortunate to have secured one of the best guides for the tour, a person with a direct connection to the cemetery, over 35 years of service there. We shan't say more, but you're in for a suprise.
To facililate the COVID safety requirements, we ask you to meet the IATG coordinator in the carpark and then organise to 'carpool' around the cemetery to the designated sites. The guide will meet you at each of the sites to give his presentation.
And we ask you to bring $5 cash. This is to help the restoration fund in its important work, maintaining the beautiful sandstone of the cemetery so it can be enjoyed for generations to come. You can give the IATG coordinator your $5 as they cross you off the attendance list on arrival.
