Brickpit Ring Walk

Date: Saturday, 7 September 2019
Time: meet at 10.30 am for 10.45 am start
Venue: Brickpit Ring Walk

Meeting point: Brickpit carpark on Marjorie Jackson Parkway (meeting point C)
The tour:

  • experience the home of the endangered
    Green and Golden Bell Frog
  • walk the 550-metre, award-winning Ring around
the Brickpit 'pond' to discover its history and the
evolution of the frog’s habitat. From the soaring
circular walkway (18.5 metres high), get a
bird's-eye view without disturbing the tiny residents

  • listen to soundscapes of frog and bird calls, and hear the voices of pit workers recounting their experiences as they helped make the millions of clay bricks used to build
Sydney. The panels along the ring provide further details of the history of the area
NB: Participants need to wear robust, enclosed shoes and a hat and sunscreen is recommended.  Importantly,  soles of shoes will be sprayed with a diluted bleach solution to prevent the spread of citrid fungus.

Numbers are limited to 20 and bookings close on Friday, 30 August
