Meeting Place: Meet at 9.45 at Elizabeth Farm 70 Alice St Rosehill

Duration: Three hours

Cost: Free.

  • One hour tour of Elizabeth Farm one of three 18th century buildings which survive in Parramatta.The original three room cottage of Elizabeth Farm was built in 1793 for the young John and Elizabeth MacArthur and is one of Australia’s oldest homes. It also features a garden with some of the earliest plantings of European trees.
  • Extra 30 minute information session for tour guides
  • Tour of Hambledon Cottage 63 Hassall St Parramatta (a short walk away) built in 1824 in the grounds of Elizabeth Farm as additional accommodation for the MacArthur’s families and friends. This garden also features heritage listed trees.
  • Bring your own lunch and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee hosted by members of the Parramatta Historical Society who manage the property.
  • Inspect the special exhibition about the Parramatta Female Factory
