RIVERBOAT POSTMAN FAMIL

Date:       Wednesday, 10 January

Time:       9.45 am for a 10.00 am departure

Cost:        Free to members, paid guests and friends welcome

Meeting place:   Ferry Wharf, Brooklyn next to Hawkesbury River train station

Getting there: The best way to travel to Hawkesbury River station is by the Newcastle train. The train arrives at 9.45 and there is a train soon after the end of the cruise.

If you are driving, take the Brooklyn/Mooney Mooney exit off the Freeway, or Pacific Motorway (M1), follow all the signs to Brooklyn (these will bring you over the old Pacific Hwy bridge to the Sydney side of the river) and turn left on to Brooklyn Rd. Go all the way to the end of it and turn left when you can go no further. There is free parking for 4 hours near the wharf.

Duration: Cruise starts at 10.00 am and finished at 1.15 pm

  • The Riverboat Postman commenced in 1910 and delivers mail to the settlements of Dangar and Milson Islands, Kangaroo Point, Bar Point, Marlow Creek, Fisherman's Point and Milson's Passage which are only accessible by river.
  • Enjoy the magnificent scenery of the lower Hawkesbury River.
  • Hear tales of the river from locals who have lived on the river all their lives.
  • Enjoy morning tea on board, including homemade Anzac biscuits.
