Tour Government House

The State's Vice Regal Home

Step inside this magnificent Gothic Revival mansion overlooking the harbour, where dignitaries including Queen Elizabeth II and the Pope were wined and dined.

Government House was built in 1845 and resembles a small castle and is the official home of the Governor of the State of New South Wales, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, 39th Governor of New South Wales. Her Excellency is the 28th Governor to occupy this Government House and has held the position since 2 May 2019.

On a tour of Government House Sydney, we can expect to see the state's vice-regal home, including the Great Hall, Grand Dining Room, and elegant Ballroom. The tour also includes a look at the lavish estate and the beautiful gardens, which are designed by renowned architect Edward Blore. You'll explore the historic State Rooms, learn about the collections, portraits, and coat-of-arms, and take in the architecture, interior decoration, furnishings, and artifacts.

Stay on after for lunch at Cafe Gigi, Situated in East Circular Quay with an unobstructed views of Sydney Harbour
