Join Gaille for a journey on the newly opened section of the Metro from Crows Nest to Waterloo visiting Victoria Cross, Barangaroo, Martin Place, Gadigal and Central Stations along the way.

Approval for this section of the Metro was given January 2017 and the tunnelling between Chatswood and Sydenham commenced in October 2018. The twin underground metro rail tunnels extend about 15.5 kms from the Chatswood tunnel portal continuing under the harbour and on to the Marrickville tunnel portal.

We will be boarding and alighting at each station exploring these brand new commuter tunnels of sleek 21st century design with soaring, light-filled atriums and gleaming stainless steel escalators. All stations have their own theme and style from the sandstone walls of the Barangaroo Station to Martin Place and Gadigal with sculptures and coloured tiled mosaics to the industrial look of rusty steel at Waterloo.

From 10am at Kurtosh Cafe, 112 Willoughby Road, Crows Nest.

Journey starts at 10.30am.

Lunch

12.30pm stay on for refreshments and lunch at The Cauliflower Hotel, 123 Botany Road, Waterloo (at own expense).
